BENEATH THE SURFACE
Here are the four final outcomes I produced in my mock exam which clearly shows my progression towards my final piece. I have decided to stick to two themes within my final piece - all pictures will include a female or male portraiture and either a city lanscape or trees/branches. This will show variation in my work and give each individual photo a different look/vibe.
During my mock exam I started to think about how I will present my work, and after printing these photos out, they did not look as strong as what they did when they were viewed digitally. Having experience on Final Cut Pro from A2 media, I thought displaying my final piece images in a video along with some appropriate music would present my work in a stronger format.
After doing practice work inspired by Jon Duenas, I decided to look at another artist and further my knowledge and did some research on how to create a successful double exposure photograph as my previous editing with double exposure did not come out as well as i hoped. This helped my mock work to come out stronger then previous work.
SARA KAY BYRNE
I decided to research into another artist who produces double exposure photographs to support and gather more ideas for my final piece. I came aross Sara Kay Byrne who composes double exposure photographs with female models and mainly nature landscapes (trees/flowers). I really like her use of lighting - I like how she changes the lighting on each individual photograph to give it a different look;
On this photo, she has darkened her subject (the model) to create a silhouette of her face and lightened the background photo to make it dominate the photo, making the photo look very abtract.
On this photo, she has lightened the original image of the model to clearly show the models facial expression. I really like these ones because the model will be able to convey their thoughts and feelings in a non verbal way. An audience can look upon this and read this in their own way.
